The Ruins, also known as the Taj Mahal of Negros...
is situated in the middle of a former sugar plantation in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. It is built by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in memory of his then deceased wife Maria Braga. Burnt in 1942 by the Guerilla fighters to prevent it to be a Japanese barracks during the second World War it remained abandoned for more than 70 years until in descendant in the name of Raymund Javellana decided to rebuilt it in 2010 and ever since has become a top tourist destination in Talisay City Bacolod.

How to Get to The Ruins
Getting to The Ruins requires you to travel by plane. We booked Cebu Pacific about a month in advance and managed to pay Php7,000 round-trip for two people. When we arrived at the Bacolod Silay International airport, we are immediately greeted by shuttle vans and cabs that offer to bring you to the hotel. We were told that the van costs around 150php/person and the cab around 600php. We decided to take the tricycle for 200php for two people to our hotel, Nature's Village Resort.
Getting to The Ruins through commute is a bit challenging because it is in the middle of a former sugar plantation. So when we visited this architectural marvel, we opted to take a tricycle. Relatively cheaper compared to van for rent or cab; it costs us around Php 100 to get there from our hotel - Natures' Village Resort.
The Ruins Tour
Once you get in The Ruins, you will be immediately greeted by an elegant architecture. Its pillars standing majestically despite the fire and abandonment in the 1940s.
